Our Mission

West Platte Education Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing resources to the students, teachers, and staff of the West Platte School District. Our mission is to promote and encourage the highest standards of educational excellence and achievement, beyond those that can be provided by the District itself. We believe that every student deserves a chance to succeed, regardless of their background or circumstances. By providing additional resources and support, we can help to ensure that each and every student in the West Platte School District has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Scholarships

The West Platte Education Foundation makes scholarships possible for graduating seniors of West Platte High School. At present, all contributions are placed in a single general scholarship fund. However, future plans call for a series of both annual and endowed scholarships underwritten by donors. If you are interested in helping to set up a particular annual or endowed scholarship, please contact the Foundation, the Superintendent, or the High School Principal.

Graduate

Experiential Learning Grant

The West Platte Education Foundation offers grants to district teachers for the purpose of
promoting the diversity of their professional experiences and encouraging a well-rounded
education. Teachers will gain from the personal growth obtained through these programs and
will be better able to pass along the excitement of learning to their students.

Support Our Students Grants

Gifts to S.O.S. (Support our Students) help students who may be from families who struggle financially. The donations are used to purchase appropriate school supplies for these students. The S.O.S. funds are used for students in all grades. The Foundation works closely with the school counselors and district representatives to make sure the funds get distributed to students who need assistance.

What People are Saying

"Receiving the scholarships I did helped tremendously with assisting me in focusing more on my education and less on working. This kept me on track with the transition between high school and college difficulty classes."
